The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted by the joint committee of IIT’s and IISc on a national level which tests the candidates on their knowledge of the core subjects in Engineering. Around 15 lakh students took the exam this year for admission to M.Tech and other PG courses in engineering and science in India. The candidates who have finished their graduation in engineering or their masters in science are eligible to take the exam. The application forms for GATE 2016 have been released online.

- The candidate must atleast be a graduate in the field of engineering/science/mathematics/statistics/computer equivalent.
- The candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply for GATE 2016. These candidates must have the required certificates needed during the time of admission.

- The application process will be held online form 01 September 2015. All candidates who wish to take the GATE 2016 must go through the eligibility criteria.

- The GATE 2016 will be a computer based test. There are 22 papers available in GATE. The candidate can choose any one of the 22 papers to write the GATE 2016.
- The application process for the exam will also be held online. All details regarding this will be given to you as soon as there is an official notice regarding GATE 2016.
- The admit cards will also be released online after the online application process is closed. The candidates can download the admit card and get a printout of the same for further use.
- The application fee payment will also be made online using credit card/debit card/net banking.
- Official notice regarding the date of the exam for GATE 2016 has been issued. However, the exam is expected to be held sometime between the last week of January 2016 to 3rd week of February 2016.
- The schedule of the entire GATE 2016 including the examination dates will be uploaded on our official website as soon as the official notice for the same is released.
