West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2016 would be held in the 1st week of May 2016. Official notification cum brochure for the same would be issued in the 3rd week of December 2015. Selected candidates would be admitted to B.Tech and MBBS courses in the colleges/institutes participating in the examination process. WBJEE 2016 Exam Pattern
Candidates would be asked to solve two papers: Paper 1: Mathematics/Biology and Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry. Duration of the Math paper would be 2 hours and candidates have to solve 80 questions of 100 marks. Physics-Chemistry paper would be of 2 hours and will have 80 questions (40 each from Physics and Chemistry) of 100 marks. All the questions of WBJEE 2016 would be of multiple choice/objective in nature.

In category 1 and 2 questions, only one option is correct. For wrong answer, ¼ and ½ marks would be deducted. In category 3, more than one option may be correct. No negative marking would be done in this section.
WBJEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must be an Indian citizen. He must be at least 17 years old as on 31 December 2016. It is necessary to pass in class XII or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC) in English, Physics, and Mathematics as core subjects and Chemistry/ Biology/ Technical Vocational Subjects as optional subjects. Also, it is necessary to score at least 30% marks in English. For B.Tech (Marine Engineering), candidates must have subject combination of Physics, Math, and Chemistry in the qualifying examination. Candidate must have passed in English, Physics, Math, Chemistry, and Vernacular.
WBJEE 2016 Application Form
Candidates can fill the WBJEE 2016 application form from December 2015 to February 2016. They have to enter all the personal, educational, and communicational details correctly. On submission of the details, a unique 7 digit application number would be allotted. Last step in this process is to pay the application fee in either online or offline mode. In online mode, payment can be done thru Net-Banking and Debit/Credit Card.
In offline mode, payment can be done thru e-challan. The application number must be preserved and quoted in all the future communication. Fee of application is Rs.500 for all the categories/genders. Once the payment has been made, a confirmation page will be displayed. Candidates must download this page and send it to address: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board, AQ – 13/1, Sector – V, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700091.
WBJEE 2016 Admit Card
Only those candidates would be able to download the admit card who are able to submit the application form successfully. It can be downloaded from the official website of the examination by entering application number, date of birth, and security code. It is mandatory to bring the original admit card to the exam hall to get permission to take the exam. Candidates must retain the admit card till the admission process is complete.
