UPSEE 2015 Cutoff and Tie Breaking:
Based on the score obtained, a rank will be allotted to the candidate after screening through cutoff. If two or more candidates score equal marks, rank allotment will be done as per the following process:
Cutoff is the minimum marks benchmark that is applied to select the best lot of the candidates for the selection process. It is basically applied to restrict the number of candidates in admission process. If the score of the candidate is equal to or more than the cutoff, he will be included in the merit list. This list is a compilation of the candidates who are selected for the option filling cum counselling rounds.UPSEE Cutoff percentage of marks for the merit list is 25% (20% for SC/ST) as per state orders. Separate merit lists will be drawn for separate candidates. These lists will be posted on the web after the declaration of UPSEE 2015 Exam Result.

- Less number of incorrect answers means higher merit.
- Age of the candidate. More the age, higher is the merit.
- For B. Tech.: Marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry sections of Paper 1 and then age.
- For B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.): Marks obtained in AG-I, AG-II, AG-III section of Paper 3 and then age.
- B.Tech. (Bio Tech.): Same as applicable in B.Tech.
