NEET 2016 is the name of medical cum dental entrance exam to be conducted by CBSE to offer admission to interested and eligible candidates in MBBS and BDS programs. There are two phases of the examination – phase 1 and phase 2. The former was held on 1 May 2016 whereas the latter is scheduled to be held on 24 July 2016. For phase 2, the candidates who didn’t appear in phase 1 are as much eligible as those candidates who appeared in the same. However, those who appeared in phase 1 will lose their score, as per the instructions of Hon. Supreme Court of India.

The form has been released online on 26 May 2016 and can be filled till 21 June 2016. The fee for application is Rs.1400 for general category candidates and Rs.750 for reserved category candidates. Payment of application fee can be done in online (wallet, credit or debit card, and net-banking) and offline mode (challan). The last date for online payment is 25 June 2016 and for offline payment, it is 21 June 2016.
NEET Eligibility Criteria
- Only Indian candidates who are at least 17 years old as on 31 December 2016 can apply for the examination.
- Upper age limit for the candidates is 25. Reserved category candidates are given a relaxation of 5 years.
- Candidate must not have appeared in AIPMT 2016, if he has, he must be ready to leave the candidature.
- He must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biotechnology or Biology individually.
- Minimum aggregate percentage score for general and reserved category candidates is 50% and 40% respectively.
- AP, Telangana, and Jammu-Kashmir candidates are ineligible for 15% All India Quota seats in government colleges.
- They can however appear in NEET for taking admission in private medical or dental colleges.
