KVPY 2016 is the name of the scholarship/ fellowship grant exam to be conducted by IISc (Indian Institute of Science) Bengaluru under the guidance and directives of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The exam will be held on 6 November 2016 and its result will be declared in the 3rd week of December 2016. Selection for scholarship will be purely merit based. The purpose of the exam is to encourage scientific and technical study in India and popularize these streams among the budding science aspirants.

KVPY 2016 Application Form
The form will be available only in online mode from 10 July 2016 to 23 August 2016. Candidates must fill the form on the official website of the examination. For faster and easier access, direct link of the application form will be made available on EntranceCorner website. Only correct and complete details shall be entered in the application form else it will be rejected by the screening officers. Scanned images to be uploaded must stick to the prescribed format, size, and resolution. The fee of application is Rs.1055 for general category candidates and Rs.528 for reserved category candidates; the fee includes KVAT @ 5.5%.
KVPY 2016 Eligibility Criteria
- Indian students of class X and XII (government of private schools) are eligible for the examination and scholarship program.
- First year degree program (B. Sc/ B. S./ B. Stat/ B. Math/ Int. M.Sc/ M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) students can apply as well.
KVPY 2016 Exam Pattern
- The KVPY 2016 Exam will be conducted in online mode as well as offline mode.
- For SA and SB/ SX stream, a total of 80 and 120 questions will be asked respectively.
- Questions will be asked from class X, XII, and 1st year of degree program.
- Negative marking persists for the incorrect answers.
