With the release of JEE Advance 2015 Result on 18th June 2015, the race for admission into the premier Engineering colleges of India will commence from 26th June 2015 after the release of JEE Main 2015 Rank List on 24th June 2015.
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be conducting the counseling Procedure for admission of candidates in various undergraduate streams at India’s eminent engineering Colleges like Indian institute of Technology, National Institute of Technology, BITMs and other Government Funded technical Institutes (GFTIs). JoSAA is a culmination of Joint Admission Board (JAB) and Central seat Allocation Authority (CSAB) which used to counsel students for admission in previous years. This collaboration will be significant because this will reduce the time frame during the counseling process earlier. This year, the counseling process is scheduled to start early unlike previous year when the same started after 7th July. JoSAA Counselling 2015 will allocate various NITs, IITs and other GFTIs on the basis of JEE Main 2015 AIR and into IITs, ISM Dhanbaad, IISER Kolkata, IIST and IIS on the basis of Rank IIT JEE Advance 2015 Rank List.
The JoSAA 2015 Counseling will commence from 26th June 2015 after CBSE declares the JEE Main 2015 All India Rank (AIR) List on 24th June 2015. CBSE will be combining the stipulated weightage of both class 12th marks and JEE Main 2015 Score to declare the coveted AIR. This will be the culmination of 60% weightage of marks from JEE Main score and 40% weightage to marks from class 12th or any other equivalent State Board Higher Secondary examination. IITs, on the other hand will only induct those candidates who will feature under top 20% percentile of their respective Boards.
Candidates will have to enroll themselves online by registering on the website of JoSAA for participating into the JoSAA 2015 Counseling process. After registering, they will be provided option to lock their choices for Course and college selection. This will be followed by Seat Allocation by JoSAA into various IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) strictly on the basis of their AIR.
JoSAA 2015 will start the seat Allocation Process from First week of July following which the students will have to take admission at the allotted colleges. These Counseling Sessions and result yielding months are a hard to bear. They are exhaustive, pulmonary and sometimes nerve wrecking. But these also decide the future of the candidates. Getting into an IIT or NIT or Institutes of its repute will certainly raise the standards of those students who have qualified but those who, due to certain reasons, were not able to make it should not feel the other way. Certainly they lagged behind in the race but that race was not the end of the life. They will have to get up again, identify their mistakes and face the race of life. Always remember, it’s not the end but start to a bigger and more extraordinary race.
