JEE Main Rank List will be issued by JAB (Joint Admission Board), the counselling and admission department of JEE Main 2016, on 30 June 2016. It will be available on the official website of the examination i.e. jeemain.nic.in. In the rank list, names of the candidates will be arranged in the order of decreasing composite marks. The composite marks will be prepared after taking JEE Main 2016 marks and qualifying exam marks in the ratio of 60:40. There shall be four different lists to be released online – All India, All India Category, State, and State Category.

Importance of JEE Main Rank List
Call for counselling will be made in the order of appearance in the merit list. Higher composite score will lead to lower ranking. Obviously if there are multiple candidates with equal score, a tie breaker mechanism will be applied that will consider sectional score at various levels. In the allotment, the candidate with lower rank will be preferred over the candidate with higher JEE Main 2016 Rank List. The same process will follow throughout the stages of JEE Main 2016 Seat Allotment. It is important to note that for national level centralized counselling, only all India ranks will be considered.

- On the homepage of the website, find the link for rank list (or merit list) and click it.
- Once the rank list page opens, provide details of JEE Main 2016 roll number and date of birth.
- Check the information filled and press submit (or view) button to see rank list position.
- Take printout of the rank list position status and keep it safe for reference in counseling.
