The admissions to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs & other institutions is granted to eligible candidates on the basis of their marks of class 12 and their JEE Main scores. The admissions are done via following a set counselling procedure. JEE Main Counselling till 2014 was conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) but now the JEE Main 2015 Counselling will be held by JoSSA. The candidates who will secure equal or more marks as listed in the JEE Main 2015 cutoff list will be eligible to participate in the JEE Main 2015 Counselling. Though JoSSA also provides certain other eligibility criteria that will also be required to be fulfilled by all the participating candidates in the JEE Main Counselling.
The JEE Main Counselling process will commence from 25 June 2015. A set procedure will be followed whereby engineering aspirants will be able to choose colleges & courses as per their desire/preference. The procedure mainly consists of few steps, which are as follow -
JEE Main 2015 Counselling Online Registration – Firstly all the interested and eligible candidates will be required to get themselves registered online, thereby filling an online counselling application cum option filling form and paying the fee using the available online payment gateways.
Choice Marking of Institute/Branch – After online registration, candidates will be able to fill up the choices of institutes & branches according to their preferences. The choices must be locked by the candidates after thoroughly analysing the options available with them. Also, the candidates if not satisfied with the seat allotment possess the right to unlock their already made choices for the fourth round of counselling, but this option can only be availed by the candidates upon surrender of previous allotment. The process of filling & locking up of choices will be open to all the candidates from 25 June to 29 June 2015.
Seat Allotment & Document verification – As per the All India Rank list, seats will be allotted to eligible candidates on the basis of the choices locked by them and after ascertaining other factors. A total of 4 rounds will be held for seat allotment in the JEE Main 2015 Counselling Process. Their documents will also be verified and upon satisfaction of the candidature being valid, seat will be alloted to the candidates.
Reporting to allotted institute and payment of fees – This is the last stage of the counselling procedure. Selected candidate will have to report to the allocated centre physically and pay the requisite fees and claim the seat allotted to them.
