JEE Main 2016 All India Rank will be declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on or before 30 June 2016. The All India Rank is a major component in determining a candidate’s chances of admissions to the various participating institutes. All the top engineering institutes including the NITs, the IIITs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) will select candidates for admissions strictly on the basis of their AIR in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main). The All India Rank (AIR) of candidates in the Joint Entrance Examination is mainly a mathematical summary of a student’s performance in the Pre-Engineering Entrance Exam in comparison to those of other students who took up the test.
The higher the All India Rank (AIR) of candidates, the greater are the chances of him/her securing admissions to a preferred institute. Both the rank and scores of candidates in JEE (Main) 2016 will be published on the official website of CBSE i.e cbse.nic.in. Along with the JEE Main 2016 All India Rank, the state rank, categorical rank, subject-wise scores of candidates as well as their total scores will be published. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), the authority responsible for overseeing the counselling procedure of JEE Main will use this information to shortlist candidates for admissions to the various colleges/institutes.
