All questions in CTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four options out of which one response will be right. There'll be no negative marking.
There'll be two papers of CTET.
(i) Paper I am going to be for somebody who means to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for somebody who means to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note: An individual who means to be a teacher for the two grades (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will need to appear in both the newspapers (Paper I and Paper II).

The test items on Pedagogy and Child Development will concentrate on educational psychology of learning and teaching related to the age group of 6-11 years. They're going to concentrate on recognizing the traits and qualities and needs of diverse students, interaction with students as well as the features of an excellent facilitator of education.
The Evaluation items in Language I am going to concentrate on the abilities associated with the medium of instruction.
The Evaluation pieces in language II will concentrate on the aspects of communication, language and comprehension skills.
Language II will be a language besides Language I. A nominee may select any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the language that is accessible choices.
The Test things in Math and Environmental Studies will concentrate on the theories, problem solving pedagogical comprehension of the areas and skills. In all these subject areas, the test items will be equally spread over distinct sections of the syllabus of that area prescribed for courses I - V by the NCERT/CBSE.
The questions in the evaluation for Paper I'll be based on the matters prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT/CBSE for courses I - V but their issue standard in addition to linkages, could be up to the Secondary period.

- There shall be two papers in the exam - paper 1 and paper 2.
- Paper 1 is for candidates desiring to be a teacher for class I-V.
- Paper 2 is for candidates desiring to be a teacher for class VI-VIII.
- Someone who would like to become teacher for the two grades has to appear for both newspapers.
- Candidates should encircle their responses on an OMR sheet using black/ blue ball point pen.
- Duration of every paper is 2.5 hours or 150 minutes.
